Futaba R114F receiver - info needed
The blurb from SMC says weighs only 10.9g with case and crystal. 2/3 size crystals can be used to minimise weight. 4 channel - Current drain 11mA - Dimensions 21.8 x 31.7 x 13.5mm - Weight 10.9g (with case & xtal) 7.5g (without case & xtal)
Does anyone use one and knows the weight with standard size xtal? Also is it dual conversion?
Whats its performance re. likelihood of interference?

For an antweight it is about perfect. Its 11g ish with a standard x-tal and case. It is not dual conversion. I have yet to see a dual conversion rx at this weight.
Interference is usually minimal with ants anyway

hades uses this Rx, its its very good (may get one for Chroma).
As for:

i dont agree, they are probably the worst for it. this is for a number of reasons, the main one being that the arial is squashed behind something inside the robot, therefore not exposed much. at the beginning of the big melles (10+ robots), they all sit there shaking. Remember the Tx is only a couple of foot away, so it shows how bad they can be!
But its a good RX, nice and small!:)

Alan what i ment is that its unlikely that interference will interfeer with the robots proformance much

Thanx for the info - Ill put in an order. Thanx also for the aerial info too, Ill have to think of about that one - a bit more testing :)

I use the R114f and many other people use it.
i have 2 as they are so good and i highly recomend them!
i have never had interfirence in the 2 years of owning it and it also has a built in fail safe. just dont be daft and cut the areil. loop it and but it in a sutible places eg the back of the ant ;). withoug case (how i use it) it weighs about 6-7g :) the xtals weight abotu 1g max so now probs there.
good luck

SMC have the Hitec Feather 40MHz receivers back in stock at only £18.50 each. These are lighter and nearly £10 cheaper than the R114F

Damn! Got it now - too late.
Roll on nano technology I say - mind you how would we then connect the battery and servos? Tiny tweezers and a microscope probably :)
