Decisions, decisions, decisions !!!
Time to get some advice, I can't decide on what is best to use for my chassis; I was thinking 4mm aluminium but will this be strong enough or do I just go for hdpe ???
I have been looking through other build diaries but it does vary.
If anyone has any advice on what is a good bet.

I would pick 10mm HDPE over 4mm aluminium
4mm of what kind of ali?
Metals 4 you, think it's 1050 grade
ali 1050? That's low strenght heatsink "pure" ali.
Better to use 10mm Ikea cutting board.
IIRC 1050 alu is too weak and will deform easily.
7075 and 2024 is a alot better for structure compontents but is costly.
6082 is a mid ground.
Hdpe is probably the best way to go for now then
I would agree that 10mm HDPE is a good starting point - my FW uses 10mm HDPE as part of the armour and has stood up to quite a lot thrown at it.
