project: self destruction
ok this is a beetle that has taken over a year to come to life but its nearing completion so i thought id post up a little about it. its called ravage and its a totally original idea and has nothing to do with getting drunk and watching battlebots. while still slightly merry i messaged a friend who was an outstanding machinist and he agreed to make the weapon.....a 400mm 5mm thick bar.
i had optimistically entered it for the 2015 beetle champs but it never made it and so ended up on the back burner.
roll on Burgess hill 2016 and i get handed this beautiful weapon and attached to it a pulley set up and weapon motor so as you can imagine i was much pleased with said creation and started thinking about it again. i then weighed the entire set up and it came to about 900 grams.
much panicking and thinking later i settled on using an ant weight drive system for it and hurriedly threw money at people to acquire said parts and set to work. i used some 8mm hdpe and some 6mm polycarb to create a base that would be secure enough to hold the weapon in place but light enough to not cripple me weight wise

this monstrosity will be coming to the euros in September and its either going to detonate its opponents or itself .i will post up some more pics once i have finished it
