Small spindles for gears

I don't have a lathe so where is the best place to get some spindles and bearings for making my gearing?

I need to attach a couple of sprockets to the same spindle and thus reduce the rpm rate of the wheels. I have the sprockets and chains but....

And I am in Sheffield.

Have a look for small engineering companies in your area, that's how I get my stuff made. Most places are happy to help and i've found it's normally cheaper than you'd expect.
