I've been watching videos of the 2016 robochallenge competition (world championships I think) and I was wondering if there'll be one in 2017 and how to enter it. It seems to be one of the only FW competitions I can find and I wanted to know if/when there'll be a competition next year because I'll know the when the robot I'm building needs to be finished. I probably need Facebook.
They normally announce the event on here nearer the time for any events they do, so you'll find out about it just fine here
Whilst its not announced yet, best bet currently is to be ready in time for April if it does go ahead.
Looking at the next Insomnia on April 14?

Insomnia 60 will be 14-17 April 2017. Insomnia 61 has not been set yet but it will be happening on roughly a 4 month cycle, much better than the annual cycle of GSL.
The main issue is if Insomnia clashed with Robot Wars like the most recent one did, it was the 9th-12th, the day after RW finished filming; no time to move the FW arena.
Insomnia 61 will be the august bank holiday
