Front end of Terrorhurtz
Hi All
Every now and again I struggle finding pictures of how something goes together, and then am utterly desperate to know lol. This time it's Terrorhurtz's front end. I know it's bulkheaded polycarb and I found the website, but I'm really interested to know how the bulk heads attach together, specifically the front end, and how the hardox attaches to that. I'm desperate to know please help with pictures and an explanation! It looks as though the bulkheads are bolted, with the ends of the pieces drilled and tapped. Is this even possible? And if so, are there any brackets in it and how does the metal at the front attach?

That last one is beta. But essentially it's rubber mounted is the answer to your question.

You can see in that image where the Aluminium arm comes down on the side. Its mounted on a pair of car engine bushings and then also has a block of rubber on the bottom that gets sandwiched between the armour and the mount. Between those 2 sets of shocks it can absorb energy in any direction and allows the armour to rest perfectly on the ground.
You can also see how tired running a HW in a competition makes you.

God that's brilliant thanku! And then the sort of wrap around steel is just all one piece that surrounds it all like a skirt almost?

Yes, the armour is technically two halves joined together, but for all intensive purposes its like a giant steel skirt that rests on the ground. The bottom edge is ground sharp all the way round so there is a small area resting on the floor, reducing friction and making sure its always on the ground so things cant get under. Check out Beta vs Lucky, not even the dedicated flipper could get under without some help/luck.

So the hardox skirt deflects the brunt of a spinner and the polycarbonate absorbs the rest?
