Hi all so as previously said me and my son are building a robot. We have decided to do this designAttachment 5780
we don't have a name yet so any suggestions would be good haha.
i have most of my shopping list. Just armour and weapon motor to get really.
would indeed to use bearings for the weapon shaft ?

Yes, bearings or bushings are a must on spinning weapons. You can go for the cheap ebay deep groove bearings since most bearings in robots only see a few hours of run time in their entire lives when bearings are usually rated for 24/7 use 365 days a year.

Are you welding the chassis together? What material were you going to use? I ask because the outer walls do look a little thin.

The chassis is box steel and I'm think aluminium for the armour and have it all the way round
