Hi all,
I'm putting together some bits to make a feather, and noticed that the Gimson GR02s are now discontinued. For drive motors, what's the popular equivalent? Speed 900s?
I've got some drill motors on order (thanks Archie!) but wondered about the GR02s for potential future upgrade, in case the drill motors don't deliver the grunt :)
Look at Ranglebox motors and gearboxes, from what i've seen they're just about the best option ATM

But don't worry, normal batterydrill motors/gearboxes with some work do the job fine in feathers.
Fyi gr02 are drill motor innards in a nice case. So there would be no "grunt" difference.
Saturn 775 are awesome though. Best off the shelf you can get in my humble opinion.

Still struggling on wheels. Made my own recently and what a pain.
Looked at the RC ones but struggling to find a hub that allows them to go nicely onto a 12mm shaft
The GR02 was just a drill motor and gearbox repackaged into an easy to mount solution. Tempted to manufacture the same end plates myself for sale from 3D printed nylon as an easy to swap out solution.

For a hub to take an RC wheel. M10 D3 nut, drill it out to 12mm, add as much M3 set screws as you like. And use 2 of the set screws in line to fit in the keyway.
You'll need to drill a hole in the shaft, to fit a locking bolt or nut.
