Another question;
I know that in general it is a bad idea to fit an air compressor in a robot but for what I'm planning it could work well, my question is could you take a pneumatic drill like this:

and strip it down and connect the output shaft to an electric motor and so power it in reverse to create a lightweight, compact compressor?
Could do that but I'm just buying one.

That maybe easier! Will you be bringing it to Maidstone along with the air muscle? Sounds like both of us have had the same idea!

I personally don't think the rating in the description is anything as good as they say, but it is much better capacity than the little thing I use to pump up my car tyres at the moment, and the PM works well with that one.
If I do make a walker using PM there will be at least 12 of them working in groups of 3 with this unit I might not need much storage capacity. Remember I am thinking of using the system at a maximum of 50psi.
I have a small compressor which I'm currently (started the build today) building into a Raptorweight (German Hobbyweight)
It is also rated for 150psi or 10bar but after tightening the system down it reaches up to 135psi give or take.

The strange poking-out-bit next to the cylinder is a makeshift buffertanklike thingie.
The robot being tossed aside is my featherweight.
Will have to increase the buffer later on to get some more power out of it.
