DX6i mixing

i think this is a common problem but i am wondering if people can help me with it. Im using a DX6i with the ELEVON option selected. To counteract the 50% throws and get full speed/ power, ive used the following youtube tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ewa79_9Iq4

The bot, which uses two self-hacked 85a ESC, works perfectly fine until for example you push the stick above 75% forward and 75% left, expecting the bot to start turning as the left side of the drive slows down and letting the right side bring the bot around to the left. At the moment, its doing the opposite in this situation and bringing the bot around to the right. it works as intended at lower speeds and when using the ELEVON option on its own without the messing with the 50% throws.

is the servo reversing in the right position?

yup! theres no servo reversing in use as ive wired it up so it wasnt needed.

I have a similar issue. I get full throttle forwards but only about 25% throttle backwards on Binky. Thinking of buying an external mixer, I already have one from The Robot Market Place, XR1... i think

ive tried an external GWS mixer and its still the same problem. i think its a common issue but there must be a way around it. I've got a plan B which involves tank steering so gonna look into that too

I would check your travel adjusts, navigate to travel adjusts and check all the numbers are at 100% then move each stick forwards then backwards then left then right to make sure the values don't change, I have problems before whe I had a Travel adjust in direction and not the other.

With my dx6i I haven't had any problems with the mixing.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the mixing but purely using the ELEVON function means ull only ever go 50% of the possible top speed. Using the mixes 1 and 2 means you get the 100% throws but it messes with the ELEVON function.

correct same issue on my robot , used mixing built into sabertooth to fix the problem

I'm thinking there must be a way of doing it. Im pretty sure my Tx did use to do it anyway so god knows whats changed.

Hi everyone,

Ive now tried everything to sort this problem and made little progress. The Botbitz ESCs shut down if the travel signal goes over 100% (i dont see why it couldn't have been programmed to just stay at 100% instead of doing that but anyway) and when i use the mixing above in the DX6i, it sends the travels way over this. Using the travel adjusts doesnt seem to limit the mixing for some reason. All this has been tested on a brand new Tx which i bought today.

I've tried the hobbyking T6A-V2 system which the botbitz ESCs were built around but there is no way of telling whether the motors are going 100%. The mixing on them is a little obscure as well but i was able to use the system at Burgess Hill but it really bugged me that i never knew if it running to its full potential.

If anyone else out there uses a DX6i and botbitz ESCs, may I ask what mixing you are using?

Also, what other Tx, Rx and maybe external mixer set-ups people using with the botbitz ESC which seem to work fine? (failsafe, doesn't do anything crazy with the mixing etc)
