Manta- Team Shock

We've been working on this very slowly over the last year or so and have finally got to the stage where we have everything and something to show. Manta will be making an appearance early next year alongside Maelstrom

Here's what we have so far;

Name: Manta
Weight: Projected weight so far just under 100kgs
Length: 750mm
Width: 700mm
Height: 400mm
Drive: 2x Bosch 750's with custom gearboxes on 125mm blue wheels
Speedo: Wotty 360
Batteries: 3x 8s A123 packs
Weapon: FP flipper with 80mm bore, 150mm stroke ram fired by 2 burkerts, 2, 2kg buffer tanks, one main 2kg tank.
Chassis: Waterjetted from 4mm Hardox.

Base with motors, gearbox plates and ram after waterjetting

Chassis tacked together without the flipper and with ram and buffer in place (ram will be shortened by 50mm).

Nice to finally see it, as you know I've been pestering you at every event about it :proud: !

Looking great! Gearboxes look strangely similar to Eruption's :) You seem to be going for a similar pneumatic setup as well so hopefully it'll flip well.

I'll be interested to see how you fit it all in. Going by the dimensions it's considerably smaller than Eruption and that's pretty tight for space inside!

I'm assuming we'll finally get to see at an event around mid 2015? :wink:

Looks really solid - hope you put in some pictures and details of the FP set up, it will be interesting to see how you go about it.
