Re: Team Saint Robot Builds
I haven't uploaded much with the build recently so here is an up date for you all.
the speed controller is the Sabertooth dual 12A, this is really overkill for the motors that wouldn't pull half that at stall conditions. but for team Saint it is about as small as we go!

Saturn 2.4gHz receiver is used these seem to work well and bind quickly.

The Battery is made up of 10* 1.2v AA 2600 mAh cells they work very well.

In the test today of the robot drive it went well but I may need a gyro to dampen down the steering, dose anyone know the best to use for this.
Re: Team Saint Robot Builds
Your robots are awesome! This has inspired me to try and finish the Roasting Dish of Doom for Barnsley.

Re: Team Saint Robot Builds
That is such a good idea! Oven ready armour, will you get another dish for the top or a plastic roast to finish the the look?
I love it when people think laterally. What else could we do?
Teapot the terrible!!! :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:
Re: Team Saint Robot Builds
Yeah I'm thinking about a baking tray lid to finish it off with somthing on top lol. I'm struggling to come up with a weapon though. I'm gonna squash in a battery and a speedo somehow n it should be good to go! I have more ideas about a Pressure Cooker of Doom to fight spinners and stuff as they look pretty beefy. But that needs work lol. I also thought I could move up to heavyweight with The Dishwasher of Doom but my fiance says she will end me if I go that far
What speedo do you have it looks like a posh one. I also have ideas for other items from daily life that would make good robots such as old lawn mower grass clippings box, some sort of big biscuit tin / chocolates tin, pc case, metal tool box, one of those mini safes you get from argos if you cut the door off and use what's left. The possibilities are endless! I keep seeing stuff and making a mental note lol.
The most perfect one I've seen though is an AP Case. You can get these Motorola wireless Access Points in warehouses, and when they're in chill / frozen they put them in these cases that have a ready made lid etc like this:

it's like a pre-made metal tin with screw on lid.
