Guide me on how to use bike chains in robot
Hello guys,
I have been working with 4 motors to make a four wheeled robot but this time I want to use 2 motors and control the 4 wheels via a bike chains. please help me.
Most of the robot you chains in their designs but I am unable to use.
I have many problems like where to put what ,etc,etc.

Erm.... Don't. Bit blunt I know, bike chains are designed to come off. I used them in my first robot. I would get some 6 or 8mm chain from technobots.co.uk. I've used that for 6 or more years its very good stuff.
I also made some u channel nylon tensioners to keep the chain in line and in tension.
Edit: I assume its a featherweight for 6 or 8mm a heavyweight would require larger.

Bike chains can be used (used em in typhoon 2) but you will find getting the cogs to attach to shafts etc a bugger. Stick to the chains from technobots

Completely agree, we used bike chains in the early Behemoth Evolutions and they are simply unreliable. As soon as you get a little slack they will start to skip or come off.
