Hi,
I'm looking for 2 motors with brakes and engage/disengage leaver on them. I would prefer Fracmo type of motors. They will be used on my old powerchair which I'm trying to do up as a project.
Can anyone help?
Thanks for looking,
Steve

Hi,yes I got pm but not email. I could help but don't know the motors that you spoke of, the best thing to do is put pics and details on here of what you are trying to replace and existing motor ratings and speed controller specs etc,this way more roboteers can help out and pick new motors and connection to Drive system. We use very powerfully motors so could easily get it wrong and your wheelchair would be too fast.
Could you not just contact the manufacturer or mobility scooter shop for. Replacements for your existing motors ?
Hi Terry,
Thanks for replying, I do have a set of motors that I could use on this chair but I'm on the lookout for another set of them that runs at about 115 RPM.
I have been in contact with the mobility centre's who I usually use and they don't wan't to be bothered with fitting newer motors to an old chair which is why I need someone who can help me mod the existing framework to fit newer parts to it. I have spare controllers and cables which I keep from broken chairs.
You are more than welcome to come and see me at home whenever it suits you, then I can show you what I'm wanting to achieve.

I guess it's simpler to replace the controller and go 36V.
All my controllers are 24v made by Penny & Giles. Also my battery box on my chair only holds 2x12v 40amp batteries.
Thanks for the suggestion though maddox :)

Here are the pics of my chair that I'm wanting to fit new motors to.... http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/a...ir%20pictures/
It's the pair of brown motors I'm wanting to upgrade on this chair, but would need them seperating from their gearboxes and fitting a better pair of motors onto the existing ones, plus rewiring.

And customizing a batterybox ain't the issue. (nor a problem for me)

You could always change the gearing, also look on Ebay, such as these , http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INVACARE-MOTO ... 460159dd3c

@maddox,
Thanks for your ideas, it's just a matter of finding someone who will help me with the work involved as I'm disabled and use my feet to drive my char.
@dmac,
I do have a pair of these motors already but they are taller than the ones on ebay. I need them to be able to go as fast as 6-8 mph as crossing the road here is a nightmare in the spring and summer months.
