minor tom

hello people of the internet I am starting my first featherweight after christmas and have all of the stuff i'm getting listed:
4 12v drill motors
1 featherweight shell from henry
1 sheet of 12mm hdpe
2 electronize 30a esc's
1 park bec
1 spektrum dx5e rx and tx
( thanks to haz for helping me with the decisions on which parts to use )
thinking of making a verticle crusher if minor tom goes well
minor tom is a rambot btw
any advice would be appreciated

got verything i need for minor tom now apart from the esc which i've just ordered, i'm going to make a cardboard modelof the shell first to decide on the dimensions.

what are the cut outs at the back for?

thats where the wheels are going to go

wheels that close together will make the robot hard to control

i'll just make the back section wider and the side bits smaller then so it's easier to control

from that layout im guessing your plan was to have the drill motors pointing inwards? ie the shaft is pointing inwards?

i would defo swap this round will solve the control problems you would have with the current method

So have them pointing outwards and make the centre section wider and the sides thinner or just get rid of the back side parts all together ?

well if they fit in that orientation already you wont need to make anything wider just change the position of the gaps for the wheels

So just move the spaces for the wheels out further then ?
