    Exo-skeleton made up welded bars which gives it strength and is light so it can run fast.

    2 x Bosch motors run on 750 watts that power each wheel.

    Full pressure flipper powered by a non-attached ram that is capable of throwing a robot out of the arena.

    Has a very powerful weapon and is really manoeuvrable.

    The lack of armour leaves its wheels and a few of its insides open to attacks.

    Information
    Beast is a heavyweight robot in its sixth incarnation built to resemble the team's really successful featherweight Beauty. Beast is also called the 8645T because the team believe that squinting at the name makes it resemble the word "Beast". The first incarnation of Beast was built in 2001 for Series 5 of Robot Wars where it beat John Findlay's first ever robot T-Bone in round 1 and since then, the teams both became very good friends. Beast has changed a lot since its first appearance but has always had the flipper as its weapon which has been improved time and time again. Beast has done very well in the live events including the Roaming Robots event at RIAT 2005 where it won and also the Roaming Robots 2005 & 2007 Winter Tours where it finished 4th.

    threaded inserts work fine for lids just nothing that will be taking spinner hits, so main frame, Armour panels etc another method is using threaded aluminum

    Personally, I use threaded inserts for the lid of my FW these days but you could use barrel nuts I am sure.
