All the evidence points to it, but no-ones confirmed it yet. So, can anyone put us out of our misery and confirm that RW is definitely dead?

Not for certain (one way or the other) until the start of the new financial year, when the channels decide how much dosh they have, and whether Robot Wars brings in the revenue. This happens every year!
Despite my complaining - especially on the RW Forum I would be really disapointed if there is not another season in store.
if not, Typhoon 2 will be the champion for life

Unfortunately I have a feeling that wont matter - Mentorn shutting down everything to do with RW (the site, the shop, particularly the club that all teams have to join) together with Five shunting it around the schedules and putting up a crappy forum with a flippant attitude suggests to me that the decision to kill it has already been made.
Ive been meaning to say for a while - C5 have been absolutely consistent about the broadcast time for the Saturday repeat. Strikes me that if theyd missed a Sunday and started showing the new episodes on Saturday/repeat on Sunday, almost nobody would have complained about the schedule...
Fingers crossed for next year, give or take my usual complaints about Mentorn events.

...well if that is the case then we just need Battlebots to come back instead!
or someone to buy the rights to Robot Wars off Five.
Ive an idea, why doesnt someone with a large wallet from FRA buy the telly rights and ask somepeople on a show to show the shows. This will never work off course.
Because anyone with a large wallet from the FRA has either just bought the arena, or is spending it all on a robot? Its also not clear to me how you can own the TV rights without having a channel on which to show it. As for trying to get legal control over the Robot Wars name... oh no, not again.
There has been discussion about filming some FRA events; hopefully that will go somewhere. Failing that, if event organizers can sort out some decent lighting, keen people with modern camcorders could probably patch together something which a cable channel could be talked into showing for a small fee. If were holding the event anyway, every little helps. Maybe by doing it better than Mentorn someone on terrestrial will see what can really be done.
Heres hoping. (And fingers crossed for Battlebots.)

The rights to RW are owned by a large, multinational TV company, not by Five. Five bought the rights to air RW series 7, it may buy the rights to air series 8.
It is very unlikely that anybody with less money than a Murdoch could stump up enough money to purchase the Robot Wars format rights - certainly nobody in the FRA!
