After some of the brushed Botbitz 85A ESCs (at least two but one will do). Out of stock on both Botbitz and Ranglebox.

Be happy to reprogram a few if hobbyking has them in stock if you fancy?

So Hobbyking are all out of these as well.

I get the feeling they have been supersceeded by the AE- models

    80 amp version:
    https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...hless-esc.html

    65 amp version:
    https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...hless-esc.html

    The descriptions say...

"The Turnigy AE series are based on new powerful microprocessor.
The new CPU means ultra fast sync timing, crisper throttle re..."

But cannot confirm this. Im after 2 TZ85a but may need to look to see if these 'newer?' models are programmable in the same way...

Has anybody cracked open the AE series ones to see what MCU it uses?

I can't imagine they'll discontinue the TZ85 with how popular it is. The site page is still up, I bet they're just waiting for another production run.

Im tempted to get the AE version just to open it up... as i could use it as brushless controller if else?

Challenge accepted. I am ordering one today. If all else fails, gives me an excuse to reuse the Red Brick controllers I have laying around make a fully brushless machine.

Speed controller arrived this morning, will attempt to hack and update later on.

UPDATE: And that appears to be a no. If there is a MCU around, it is either one I don't recognise or is there but the chip is on the underside of the red board, which is soldered on.
