Hi All

Mounting drill motors is something all new builders seem to find tricky.

Instead of mounting them, I have instead wedged them in and used a bracket to sit up against the drill motor. It seems pretty sturdy, but can anyone foresee any problems with this? I have probably overlooked something very obvious or suggest alternatives?

How does the motor not slide back and forth in the bracket if it isn't screwed in on the face of the gearbox to the panel? I'd probably have a peg or something to hold the motor in at the rear to prevent that.

Otherwise, looks sturdy enough though how thick is the bracket? On The Honey Badger 2.0, the mounting brackets were 1mm thick steel which bent out of shape too easily. The Honey Badger 2.1 uses 4mm thick steel and they've held up remarkably well given all the flips it has had.

The bracket wedges against the plastic cover of the drill which I have shaped so it follows the same curve as the motor. I have given it a good shove and doesn't move. However, I might upgrade the bracket to something thicker based on your advice!

I might fashion something that sits between the positive and negative parts on the back of the motor to act as a peg
