Thread: Triforce 3 - Build Progress Thread

The big teeth that do the work destroying the opponents. A Monoblock spare disk is a good plan. I think you'll need it.

On the gear-rings. I hope you will do the spare disk with full length teeth.

We stripped Mod 2 gears in Kashei, our featherweight with an electric axe... Just to give you an idea.

The main progress the last month has been on the electrical side with the A200S controllers now working properly (See this thread), on the mechanical side it has mostly been grinding and painting.

Assembling some ESCs, they stack in the bot sharing heatsinks to save weight.

Grinding and painting. The extra bar on the bottom plate is to reduce the warping enough to put it together lol.

We managed to assemble it today! Found a few issues with the fit of some of the modules so will need to redesign the wheels units a bit to make them easier to put in. But I think its certainly looking the part now.

looks great, what is the current weight ?

  5. #55
Haven't weighed it yet but was projected to be about 1-2kg over last time we did. Although that was based on guessing the weight of electronics, wiring, welding and paint.

The weapon module is finally finished. Weighs 15.4Kg which is only 1.8Kg more than an Etek-R, but 2-3x the power.
We gave it a spin with a drill and it works really well spinning the ring. Now just to hook up some batteries and see how much power it takes to start up the ring.

So we fired it all up and it spins nicely, limited it to 200 rpm and it only needs about 60A on one motor to maintain that speed.

Here is a test of the weapon module at 60% speed (I did also do it at 100% but forgot to film),

I need to move the bearings to the other side so they can't pop out.

Or cap the bearings with button head screws. Something standard on Industrial machines.
(Rovema is notorius for that cheap easy trick)

Maybe using that Revolt RV160SH you have there to replace these 3 Chinesium monsters...
