    That last one is beta. But essentially it's rubber mounted is the answer to your question.

    You can see in that image where the Aluminium arm comes down on the side. Its mounted on a pair of car engine bushings and then also has a block of rubber on the bottom that gets sandwiched between the armour and the mount. Between those 2 sets of shocks it can absorb energy in any direction and allows the armour to rest perfectly on the ground.

    You can also see how tired running a HW in a competition makes you.

    Yes, the armour is technically two halves joined together, but for all intensive purposes its like a giant steel skirt that rests on the ground. The bottom edge is ground sharp all the way round so there is a small area resting on the floor, reducing friction and making sure its always on the ground so things cant get under. Check out Beta vs Lucky, not even the dedicated flipper could get under without some help/luck.
