    A hammer is a disk that doesn't make a full circle, so the calculations are the same.
    But with the caveat that acceleration to a way lower rpm will make the available hitting power a lot less.

    For power balance isn't an issue.
    Balance is an issue for mechanical reliability.

    On momentum. There is exactly no difference between the impact of a tooth from a disk or the impact of a simular sized hammerhead with the same speed and mass.
