    Tactics:

    -Let's keep things pretty simple. Go on a flipping spree and attack anything that isn't flashing a damaging weapon at me!

    -Flip the others onto Good For It if possible, and don't let Good For It get any sneak attacks on me.

    -Stay away from house bots.

    No, I haven't forgotten about this. :P It's just that a few other things have gotten in the way. Unfortunately they will continue to get in the way, but the next set of fights should at the latest be up by the end of the month.

    Good for It Snr VS Tengu VII VS Truth or Consequences VS WEDGE DEVOLUTION

    Fancy a team-up, Monsiour Holt?

    Not sure who I'd be a better fit against, so may as well go for whoever comes my way first. For Good for It, I'll play passive, charge the blades before they can spin up and try to shove it into whatever hazards I can find to hand. For Truth or Consequences, I'll aim for the sides, flip it over and feed it to Tengu before it can self-right. Josh's own wedge could be trouble, but his flipper isn't quite as wide as mine and my skirts should give me that little extra protection. If all else fails, let Tengu hit them first and dive when while they're still reeling.

    I have a feeling this is gonna be a fun one, Kody!

    Empty Inside vs. S.O.T.A.R. v2 vs. Gehenna 2 vs. Under Pressure


    Empty Inside, a veteran to the Mini-Tourn, is based on Alex Holt's flipper, Achilles. The box wedge's got 6mm titanium armour, decent power behind the frontal/inner 2WD, and a decently powered flipper. It's a jack-of-all-trades, but a master of none. It does wish to get revenge on...
    Mini-Tourn History:
    MT4: Made the Final, but went out in the first round.


    S.O.T.A.R.! Specifically, v2! Tracy's updated spinner now generates more power within a much shorter timeframe (1000rpm in less than a second, and 85.4kJ at that rpm!), has one tooth near the top of the ring and one near the bottom, and is very decently armoured all around. Another thing is the drivetrain, which is powered by the same type of motors that power the ring. S.O.T.A.R. has great acceleration, but if the ring stops, there's no defense against wedges...
    Mini-Tourn History:
    MT4: Got 3rd place in the Final, beaten by Harraz and Vertigo.


    Formerly Son of Ripper, the famed Gehenna 2 rolls in with possibly the toughest body armour of the melee with 6mm Ti/V. It has practically the same drive power as Empty Inside, but with the 2WD at the rear end, and has two weapons: a front front-hinged flipper ala Firestorm, and a rear spinning drum, reminiscent of RW6 champion Tornado. Like Empty Inside, it's a jack-of-all-trades.

    And last but not least, we have Mini-Tourn 3 runner-up, Under Pressure! With two HUGE 3.5mm Hardox claws for gripping, and exerting 3.5 tonnes of force at the tips, its power is no joke. Each claw has two tips; lower flat wedged ones to get under bots, and upper points once to pierce the trapped robots. He's decently driven as well, but he's nowhere near as practical when inverted, and that narrow wheelbase is telling...

    Gehenna is off like a shot! It's like he backed into a red spring! Sound familiar, Sonic fans? And it's left no one in doubt who his main target is - Empty Inside! The titanium machine in return goes right after him! Gehenna meets Empty Inside with his spinning drum, and crashes into the flipping plate of the box-wedge! Sadly, it hasn't done much damage at all! So Empty Inside does what any self-respecting flipper would do when a great ruddy drum crashes into it - flip!! Gehenna goes sailing and lands on its back! But while that happens, the other two robots make themselves known to the spotlight - S.O.T.A.R. itself crashes into Empty Inside, who couldn't get out of the way in time, and its armour is badly torn up!! Gehenna self-rights quickly and chugs after Empty Inside, but Under Pressure, the MT3 runner-up, cuts across and snags him from the side! Andy tries to wiggle his robot free, but it's not happening! And suddenly, those bottom claws sneak underneath Gehenna and lift him completely off the ground!! Uh oh!! Under Pressure goes to the arena spinner immediately! And while he does that, Empty Inside recovers from that nasty blow from S.O.T.A.R. - he attacks the spinner again, though, but that's hard to do when it's back at full deadly speed! CRAAAASH!!! Empty Inside receives a huge tear in the flipper that would probably have made Gehenna envious... if he suddenly wasn't shunted into the arena spinner by Under Pressure! And with another big CRAAAASH, Gehenna sails away with its 6mm Ti10V armour battered! I tell you, that spinner is absolutely vicious, isn't it?! Gehenna is free now though, and seems to be working fine, so he goes after Under Pressure instead of Empty Inside, and tries to get around the claws... no, he can't! But guess what?! FLIP! Gehenna got at the main meat of Under Pressure, and tossed it! The crusher stays right-side-up, happily, but the flip attempt stunned it enough for Gehenna to come back in and comfortably get underneath one of the crushing arms! ...but still, Gehenna cannot get the crusher over! He turns around to face the Dutch machine, who's allready in Gehenna's face! This time, the bottom jaws slip underneath Gehenna before Gehenna can slip itself nice wedge underneath the middle of Under Pressure, and we're back to the clamping show!! This time, Martijn feels the pulverizer hazard would bear more fruit than the spinner, and hauls ass over to that, narrowly dodging S.O.T.A.R., who tried to attack Under Pressure from behind. S.O.T.A.R. pursues, but is intercepted by Empty Inside... who's starting to look the part now as the entire front panel just gets shorn straight off, leaving the entire ram assembly exposed!!! And as if to finalize its defeat, Empty Inside putters a bit and stops. ...no, Tracy is absolutely blood thirsty! CRAAAAASH!!! Empty Inside takes another agonizing hit!! The ram gets ripped straight out, and CO2 vents everywhere! Good gracious!! Well I think that's about the end for Empty Inside. The Watcher, if you could, sir.
    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!


    So we're down to three, and almost at two possibly, because while that great gnashing was going on, Gehenna was suffering under the hammer! Now taking its 6th hit in a row Gehenna fires its flipper to try and free itself, but it's not happening! S.O.T.A.R. is now a free agent, though, and uh... signs a contract with the devil because it's now attacking Under Pressure!! Martijn knew it was coming, but his narrow wheelbase and the weight of another robot prevents him from really turning quickly at all! S.O.T.A.R. attacks the titanium wheels with a vengeance, completely tearing off the rubber strip on the wheel as though it was nothing, and getting a direct shot on said wheel, denting it!! S.O.T.A.R. gets bounced away though by that combined weight, and has to recover. Under Pressure keeps Gehenna under the hammer though... and then, the 30 seconds of pounding... they are up! Let him go, you pesky pincher! So the MT3 runner-up regretfully lets Gehenna roam free... and Gehenna is definitely sporting more than just a few dents! Its flipper looks in very bad shape, and that's just from the hammer itself! But Gehenna isn't the only one in trouble - thanks to S.O.T.A.R.'s attack, Under Pressure can hardly move in a straight line at all! It's arcing around all over! Tracy looks utterly ecstastic, and now attacks Under Pressure again! And so does Gehenna! The pincer gets pincer attacked! Under Pressure tries to get the claws facing S.O.T.A.R., but Gehenna is immediately under it and shoves it forcefully into S.O.T.A.R., who tears into the Hardox claw in a blinding shot of sparks! Under Pressure gets flung straight off of Gehenna's wedge and bounces into the middle of the arena! It seems like we have an Andy and Tracy team-up here, and with an already crippled robot it's going to be hard for Martijn to find an answer to this one! Under Pressure continues to vent its frustrations on S.O.T.A.R., but can't exactly catch the ring spinner - it's actually faster than Under Pressure! Gehenna again sneak attacks Under Pressure from the back, this time getting under the side of the claw! With its compromised wheel the only one on the ground, Under Pressure isn't really going places and now Tracy can choose her attack! Oh yes! Tracy's running straight around to the back! CRAAAAASH!!! S.O.T.A.R. attacks the damaged wheel with ridiculous precision (for a horizontal spinner, anyway! ) and sends both of them bouncing away! The aforementioned wheel is now bent to the point where Under Pressure cannot move on it! Do you realize what this means? It means that Under Pressure can only spin in a circle, and that's a big no-no! Under Pressure is out! Martijn looks rather displeased, but is at least thankful that not too much damage was done to his robot as The Watcher makes things final with his second count-out of the fight!

    Empty Inside is certainly full of it, and Under Pressure couldn't take the strain and snapped! Tracy and S.O.T.A.R. comfortably sit and rotate in Round 2 along with that damned Gehenna 2!

    He may be a 10-year-old robot, but Josh Noel's Truth or Consequences is a newbie to the Crash & Burn Mini-Tournament series. He's pretty bulky with a whole 8mm of Grade 5 titanium armour, and a rear 5mm Hardox ram plate. He's got powerful 6WD, and a powerful flipping arm. His good buddy Revolver Ocelot has gone through, can he join Ocelot?

    Tengu VII is the seventh iteration of Alex Holt's Tengu series, and even though like ToC he's new to the Mini-Tournament, he's pretty feared in the vapourbot world. Its spinning shell generates in the realm of 70-80kJ which is devastating, and has multiple teeth set-ups. Its famed anti-spinner ring also returns, but 4mm titanium elsewhere isn't the most resistant, and its drivetrain is subpar.

    Another newbie making his first appearance is from a newcoming vapourboteer himself, who goes by the name of Playzooki. Good For It is a ring spinner with 'tude, with incredibly tough Ti10V alloy armour (even for the body!) and decent 4WD! Not as devastating as S.O.T.A.R., but its ring can cap out at 3000rpm and deliver a horrifying 180kJ! Of course, like S.O.T.A.R. it's completely vulnerable when not spinning...

    Even older than ToC, Wedge Devolution is also a newbie to the Mini-Tourn. A Chaos 2-inspired machine with a flipper that can comfortably flip up to a tonne, 4mm Hardox armour, and LEM130 4WD, with skirting pretty much everywhere except the front, which has a front plate to aid the flipper in getting under adversaries. Semi-spheres on the side stop him from getting beached as well. But you know as well as I do that all pneumatic flippers run out of power eventually...
    Mini-Tourn History: None


    Tengu will be using the regular blades today:
    Two 7.5-kilo blades with go into the robot to prevent them being ripped off, each is about 15cm long

    Marking the final melee of Round 1, we have two flippers and two spinners! But shockingly, it's a flipper that teams up with a spinner! Wedge Devolution and Tengu VII have gotten close together, but haven't attacked each other; they seem to be sizing up the other two! Good For It tries not to get flipped out... but that's not going to be a problem, seeing as the arena is enclosed! Truth or Consequences seems to be debating on who to attack first, when one of the machines suddenly makes its move first: Wedge Devolution! It makes a beeline for ToC, and gets straight under one of the corner wedges; with an almighty heave, the American flipper goes topsy turvy and lands smack dab on its back! As ToC self-rights, Tengu VII has crossed the arena and attacked Good For It, while passing over the slots! Sonic, Sonic... Sonic! We have lift-off!!! The arena spinner is revving up like a maddened Tasmanian Devil! And speaking of whirling dervishes, Tengu has collided with GFI, and instead of GFI's teeth hitting Tengu's anti-spinner ring, as Alex wished, GFI hit the teeth of Tengu and CRAAAAAAASH!!! What an incredible hit! Both spinners get rocked and blasted far apart from each other! While they are reeling, ToC has self-righted, but is the victim of another flip! Wedge Devo tries to find Tengu, but the green machine is nowhere to be found! Flip! ToC rights itself again with a stylish flip, and vamooses before Wedge Devo can move back in! As for the super-spinners? They are just now beginning to spin back up! The energy generated from the hit must have kicked back into their machinery, and only now have recovered! But instead of heading for GFI again, Tengu chases ToC down! Josh takes the hint and moves away past Tengu, and arcs around GFI in an attempt to ward them off... but wasn't counting on GFI to attack him!! CRAAAASH!!! The wheelguard takes the blow and ToC goes for a flight, but it also knocked GFI straight into an oncoming Wedge Devo, who neatly wedges the ring spinner and hefts it up into the air, where it bounces on its ring before coming to rest upside-down! Of course, being inverted won't hurt the spinner at all, but even with its seemingly mediocre drive, Tengu is able to move back in before GFI can move! CRASH!! Another attack by Tengu sends them both flying, but GFI's ring stands the test of time! Wedge Devo moves back in to attack GFI... but only gets under him in time for ToC to make a comeback, and slide under THAT side! FLIP! Wedge Devo AND GFI go for a tumble! Tengu, quick on the uptake, moves in on ToC, but Josh isn't quite that blind, Mr. Holt! ToC backs off and Tengu just barely manages to stop itself from hitting its own partner! Wedge Devo won't self-right either, in fear to flipping itself into the shell of Tengu! GFI meanwhile is moving around again and Tengu takes off after him instead, allowing Wedge Devo to right itself! Which it does! And gets launched by a prompt attack from Truth or Consequences! Wedge Devolution somersaults through the air, doing an almost perfect 540, and lands directly onto its back! Blimey! Steve isn't enjoying this and tries to self-right without further intervention, but the American is persistent. Wedge Devo gets tossed again just as it landed back on its wheels, but thankfully now lands right-side-up after the flip, and hastily scurries away to regroup! Meanwhile, Tengu VII and Good For It have come to blows again, and once again the bottom teeth of GFI connect with Tengu's! CRAAAAASH!!! Tengu pinballs into the wall behind and GFI goes flying... into a CPZ!!!
