Thread: 24v 5/2 valve on 14.8v?

  1. #1
I`ve changed the voltage of my new FW to 14.8v and have realised the 5/2 valve I have is 24v,
will it work ok / can I drop the voltage / would you suggest getting 12v valve?
    Thanks

Depends on the valve and pressure. Some will do the job. But it's doubtfull.

We use a voltage booster to overcome this problem.
Other option is to wire a 9V battery in series for the valve.

If you can get a 12v coil that would be the easiest option.

Every LP valve i have used at 14.4v has worked, the only time i've had a problem is with Burkerts on FP.

I`ll give the 9v pp a go tonight, seems the easiest way.

Also what is used to control the valve? I`ve got an old H5 board that I was planning to use but would it be better to use a RC relay?
