I don’t know about everyone else but I think the most complicated thing to do is actually think of a name for your design. Then once you have thought of one, to find out that name already exists with someone else.
Wouldnt it be an idea to have a full register of names online of all robots in each class or am I just being a bit A*** in choosing a good name?
What do people think ?
I know the feeling about picking a name. In the antweight class we have a database called Antlog which has a list of all registered bots, if that helps. http://antlog.garya.org.uk/. Robots with duplicate names has been an issue in the past at antweight events so now for official tournaments everyone has to sign up via Antlog to make sure a name isn't used more than once.
Regarding making other databases for other weight categories, although it would be a useful resource, I don't know if anybody would be willing to take the time to create & maintain it.
