Looks very much like how I am rebuilding The Honey Badger, not in a shed per se but in the lounge (and my office). Your soldering is much better than mine though! :D I found that if it is just...

Ohh err, not good. I guess the wheels are pneumatic, not solid?

Does it bring you over the limit though? If it does, that would be an issue and in that instance, I'd probably agree with the wheel change or perhaps some weight saving holes in the armour (though...

Looks very neat so far, well done! What sort of metal are you using here for the armour and weapon?

Fair enough, can't imagine it'll take very long to make mobile. I've not heard anything bad about those sort of motors so hopefully they'll serve you well. ;)

Thanks! Been touching up where it needs it with a Dremel to make sure it clears the floor. Once happy, I'll get some edging metal, such as carpet threshold or similar and cover the unsightly bits up.

Make a effort to tidy up the wiring in The Honey Badger yesterday. I had originally planned to drive both drive motors off of a single battery set but it wasn't having it (one side was OK, the other...

Are you sticking with Gimson motors or trying something different this time around? If it is going to be a ram bot, 4 wheel drive perhaps?

Well the last couple of days have been eventful. First, The Honey Badger is not going to Insomnia. I got told just before I found out that the Badger was accepted that I was meant to be in...

Hey everyone, I am considering branching into the Beetleweight category after seeing them at Grantham this year. What would be a typical size for a Beetleweight though (just so I know roughly to...

The TZ85a is a one motor affair rather than a twin motor but is, as well reported, bulletproof (even managing to survive a frazzling from a unintended short last night :S). I've reprogrammed three of...

Unfortunately, I've had to pull out of this due to a scheduling conflict that is beyond my control. Gutted at the moment :(

Your wiring diagram looks about right to me. ;) You may want to add in a resistor to the LED strip lighting section though to reduce the voltage to 5v if that is what the LED takes.

Thanks, I'll see about ordering one fairly quickly. For the metal front, I think a door "finger plate" will be suitable for this application. Once acquired along with some right angled strips to...

It would in terms of aim but placing the spear in the middle means the weight is off balance so could affect handling. If I lay my hands on a suitable replacement, I'll swap the motor over. Did a...

I believe it is Aluminium. I am not sure why it would need bending though... cutting down certainly. The idea behind this is that when the opponent drives on (or is is driven onto) the wedge,...

The shaft is a metal pipe but with a plastic inner core all the way through, so bending it is much tougher than it looks.

The weapon was mocked up today. Since the windscreen wiper motor is quite weighty, it really need to go in the middle of the robot but as the output shaft is on the right, the spear will end up being...
