To address your questions directly: 1) I can't really answer this one, I don't use drill motors per se (I use a pair of Gimson motors with matching hubs). I might suggest either some threadlock...

Side weapons are now in! Not having the right tools to hand meant this was a absolute faff to do but they are drilled out and the chisels in. They need attaching to the crossmember and swarfe...

I would think it was OK, it is what I've done with my LiFePO4 batteries (though I am open to being wrong here if that isn't a thing to do). I've screwed down the battery box to the chassis board and...

The batteries and some of the wiring loom is now in a dedicated box (made from a old lunch box we had laying around) screwed down in the robot that I've put some material in help absorb some of the...

That is fair enough... though why does the fuse rule only appear to apply to LiPo batteries? LiFePO4 batteries appear to not be subject to this requirement under rule 7.8. I would have thought it...

Well the mounts arrived but I realised the night before that they are not required. I could just elongate the original holes in the original mounts to cause it to drop down a few millimetres. So the...

Yes, that is what I mean though I don't see why not. Yes, it is another fuse to keep on top of but if it means one side continues to move whilst the other side is blown, I'd be happier with that than...

It is interesting how much the upgrade list reads like the considerations and eventual implementation I did for The Honey Badger, certainly items 2, 3, 5 and 7. I wish you well on this one. ;)

Thanks, I do understand that - I wasn't planning to have both batteries on charge when wired up in this manner (though having re-read my original post, it does look as if I was asking about charging...

Hi Everyone! I've received a pair of 2SP1 30C LiFePO4 batteries for The Honey Badger. A single battery pack is 6.6v so the drive motor spins slower than that in the 12v 1.2ah SLA battery that was...

With The Honey Badger in pieces, I've gone and ordered a couple of LiFe batteries (a pair of these: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-flightmax-2100mah-2s1p-30c-lifepo4-pack.html) to wire in series...

The Sabretooth controller arrived today and I wasted no time in getting the bits together onto a board to see how it runs. The thing came together fairly rapidly as a proof of concept. Moves...

Not at present, I wanted to get the basics out of the way first. However, my intention is to have several front panels where the weaponry will bolt onto where at least one will feature a srimech. ...

In short, no. What does matter is how much amperage is being sent to the motor. If there is too much, you'll either burn out the controller or the motor driving the actuator.

Many thanks! I believe so, they have a fair amount of drag on them so I don't think I'll be worrying about torque on this one. I do indeed. I may have fluffed up over which one I am...

Sounds OK although I am not sure 15a per wheel is going to be enough... I might potentially advise using a set of TZ85a speed controllers if the BotBitz controllers aren't up to the job. I'd also...

Looks good, have you decided on what sort of speed controllers and the shell/bodywork material you are going to use in this?
