      Information
Eric is a heavyweight competitor robot that was built in 1999 by Mike Hammerton from East Sussex. It was first seen in Robot Wars Series 3 where it lost the first round of its heat against King Buxton. It came back again for Series 4 the following year where it reached its heat final losing out to Splinter. For the next 12 years, Eric remained in retirement until Adam Emmett from Team Mute bought the machine. But due to having other commitments, Adam Emmett was too busy to take Eric on as a project so he sold Eric again to Glasgow born roboteer Tony Smith who has brought it to live events including his own - Scot-bots mainly for display but it did do an event in Robots Live! at Edinburgh in 2012 where it finished 3rd in a battle against Storm Force, Merlin and Toon Raider. After a while, Eric was sold once more to Team Riptide who have the intentions of entering Eric in the upcoming Robot Wars World Championships.

I had originally planned to retire this robot owing to the fact that I wanted to get Kaizen 2.0 built but a minor change in circumstances
